Why did you become an ambassador for Trata Brasil?
I was born in the countryside of São Paulo, where I grew up and saw the Tietê River in all its splendor. Later, when I moved to São Paulo’s capital, I witnessed the river’s destruction as it passed through large urban centers. I soon realized this wasn’t just happening to the most iconic river in São Paulo state—it was a widespread issue.
From that moment on, I became dedicated to this cause. I even traveled to South Korea to learn about their successful experience in restoring a river and providing clean, treated water to the population. This has been a fight I’ve been committed to for decades, and I won’t give up.
A clean river, basic sanitation, clean water, and treated sewage—all of this means life. And for me, that means everything.
